Title

The Web 1931 "Rat Parade"

Description

A large celebration of student life included a parade of underclassmen in silly and embarrassing garb for the amusement of the upperclassmen and visitors on campus for a public event. In the picture you can clearly see students wearing black face with the intent to entertain and audience behind them. The presence of the picture marks the event as one the students, particularly the older ones, cherished and wished to remember. More than one student appears in blackface communicating a commonness of the act.
