Description

Historically Black Sororities Alpha Kappa Alpha and Delta Sigma Theta were chosen by a committee to colonize at the University of Richmond. Both national sororities are in preparations to present themselves to the students who are interested in rushing these new additions to Greek Life. As AKA and Delta have minimum member requirements, the presentations at the interest meeting is crucial to the establishment of these sororities on campus. Individuals who are interested in rushing are required to attend the interest meeting. This meeting is required in order “to educate all women about the two organizations and what they have to offer.” Although the Historically Black Sororities belong to the Panhellenic Council, the National Panhellenic Council, which includes all six historically white sororities, stands in solidarity with the new Greek organization.
