Students describe the calls as frightening and scary. A freshman in Lora Robins Court described receiving a regular phone call after arriving home from her classes. Assistant Westhampton Dean Mary Crotty also describes other unsettling incidents of phone harassment experienced by Westhampton students. Campus Police Chief Robert Dillard notes that some of the calls come from the greater Richmond area. Dillard describes an arrest of a Richmond man who "was terrorizing" UR and VCU students, making thousands of calls. Dillard did not believe that the calls posed a physical threat to the college students, but urged students to never give away their identities.
