Description An account of the resource This document is a letter from "JEN" (likely initials) sent to GMM (President George M. Modlin) on May 27, 1968. The identities of GMM and Jen were not stated, but the letter was found in President Modlin's collection and "GMM" are his initials. According to the letter, recent events supported JEN’s advice to <em>The Collegian</em> to publish a survey, which "would have created hardly an upturned eyebrow; the censorship has been widely deplored." The UR Board of Publications chose to not publish this survey which sought to ask students about attitudes towards sex on campus. JEN also wrote about a "marijuana episode" in which they recommended that "the University say that one professor had been permitted to resign and four students had been asked to resign in connection with an investigation of the use of marijuana on the University campus." If they had followed JEN's advice, this "forthrightness" would have been a "plus" instead of "repeated [minuses?] we got as rumors were reported in the press and on the radio."
