Description
An account of the resource
This is a piece by Associate Professor of English Louis Tremaine arguing that the debate about the new Core course is worth having, and should not be dismissed. It is written in response towards a previous editorial's suggestion that opposition to Core is "based entirely on ignorance and cultural elitism." He argues that there are arguments in favor of the priority of Western perspectives, and said that those voices "influenced the shape of the eventual course as a result." He argued that while the result is a course that "fully satisfies almost no one among us," but that "the very process of constructing Core has modeled the values and practices of intellectual exchange that the course is designed to teach."
