<text>This article, published in the Collegian in 1969, covered the University of Richmond's Religious Emphasis Week. The theme was "Honest Religion for the Secular Man." The series goal was not just to follow traditional methods of religious studies and worship, but to also address contemporary problems which students may have faced. Among various speakers for the event was Dr. Samuel D. Proctor, president of the Institute for Services to Education, whose goal was to promote equal opportunity for black people in higher education. Dr. Proctor opened the lecture series with a talk on the theology of social change and student activism. There was also a panel discussion entitled "Caught in the Draft," which included speakers Bill Grogran and Robert L. Williams. Williams was being tried for draft evasion. There would also be a secular liturgy worship service, a documentary play by Martin B. Duberman entitled In White American,, and a film screening of Fail-Safe. Eric Charles Rust, Mrs. Robert S. Denny, Alton Y. Buzbee, Mrs. Lloyd H. Neil were other featured speakers.</text>
