"With ardent promises to look out for his welfare and reinforced by plenty of relief funds, the Democratic Party cemented a large section of the Negro vote in that state in the 'White Man's Party.'" The article also discusses the disenfranchisement of black voters by the South. "What is most remarkable is that after eight years, November 1940 will see the Democratic party leaders in the South keeping the "niggers" from voting, while in the North different leaders of the Democratic Party will count the Negro race and attract thereby what may be a crucial number of votes."</text>
