The article begins with a joke that student Brian Alas -- of Cuban-Irish descent -- receives due to his Cuban ancestry: Where is your tire? This joke refers to the stereotype that Cuban immigrants come to the U.S. in inner tubes. Both Alas and another student, Jeanette Lopez, were interviewed and discussed multiple topics. Both students agreed that they would rather be referred to by their hyphenated ethnicities (Cuban-American and Mexican-American), rather than "Hispanic." Furthermore, they would rather use the term "Latino" which specifically refers to Spanish speaking people and their descendants in North and South America. There were many rumours and speculations surrounding the dead bodies, with professors and students speculating that the bodies had died from the flu, and the most popular speculation being that the bodies were part of a burial ground for enslaved Africans. The article then transforms into satire, claiming that the true reason is because William and Mary boys died from a football injuries during a game, and were buried under the field to save expenses. The article explains that they money that was saved from burying the boys under the field, provided William and Mary the funds to improve their football program.
