Written from a man's point of view, the story's language is embedded with misogyny and elements of rape culture. In one quote the author says, "The next class is on the girl's side, in North Court. I try to schedule at least one class each semester on the Westhampton side. As I am walking along I carefully note which girls are going into which dorms. This information could be useful later. Subtle, but effective." On another page describing his plans for later that night he says, "A fiendish plot entered my mind: I would get her drunk and take her back to my room!
