Written from a man's point of view, the story's language is embedded with misogyny and elements of rape culture. In one quote the author says, "The next class is on the girl's side, in North Court. I try to schedule at least one class each semester on the Westhampton side. As I am walking along I carefully note which girls are going into which dorms. This information could be useful later. Subtle, but effective." On another page describing his plans for later that night he says, "A fiendish plot entered my mind: I would get her drunk and take her back to my room! My room-mate was gone until Sunday-- Glorious."</text>

Westhampton women would typically throw panties to the men from their dorm windows. The year 1976 was different in that in one of the two panty raids that occured over the span of two weeks, the Richmond College men stormed into the building, entered the Westhampton students' dorms, and stole undergarments. The article also mentions "the thoughtless mob of men, hell bent on 'have fun', proceeded to drench the carpet in Gray Court with water, thus ruining it. To replace it will cost several hundred dollars and will prevent other needed repair work from being done on the women's dorms."</text>

The article discusses the viewpoints of multiple Richmond students, and how they feel about the outcome of the trial. Larry Meli, a senior at the University, said that while he did think what Tyson did was wrong, "[t]he woman should have known what Tyson was like and should not have gone up to the hotel room." Charles Kennon, a junior, and former football player agrees saying, "It seems like she could have used better judgement." Julie Jones, a senior basketball player, says that although it was not the woman's fault for going up to Tyson's hotel room "we as women have to be smarter than that." Patrick Gurney, a sociology professor says that the case was over quite quickly due to the amount of evidence against Tyson. Gurney expressed his agreement with the conviction as he does not believe that one's wealth and fame should put them above the consequences of the law.</text>

He criticized columnist Kirsten Heller's statement that "men (at least on this campus) are not the victims of assault" by referencing the stabbing of a senior male, and argues that men and women have about the same odds against a knife or a gun. He says the safety shuttle exists for women "not because women are assaulted all the time at UR, but because the possibility exists," and says that that "preventative measure" should not be limited to women. His main concern is drunk driving, and says that a similar shuttle for men would curb drunk driving without encouraging alcohol abuse.</text>

<text>As the drinking age rises after federal legislation, William Leftwich, Vice President of Student Affairs, believes the social scene on campus will change. To study and adapt to these changes, the faculty council is appointing a faculty committee to study the greek system and social life on campus chaired by James Tromater of the psychology department. This committee will be studying all facets of social life on campus from fraternity events to musical guests. Leftwich describes the fraternities as using "animalistic behavior" in isolated incidents such as alcohol overconsumption and date rape. Bart Chucker, RCSGA President, and Robert Benson, IFC PResident, believe in this initiative and hope it will bridge the gap between faculty and fraternities. The committee will be composed of Tromater, Terry Weisenberger, R. Barry Westin, Kathleen Rohaly and Nina R. Murphy.</text>
