Crooks takes an infuriated tone as he condemns the language that is used by Whitney. As a black student on campus, Whitney wrote pieces talking about his negative experiences living at the University of Richmond, with writings that gradually become bolder. Crooks claims that Whitney believes in philosophy equal to that of Hitler, Hegel, and Karl Marx. He is livid that the white population is viewed as “oppressive racist hatemongers,” and continues his tirade on Whitney. The article concludes with a defensive argument of the Greek system and how individuals outside of the organization cannot criticize it. Crooks believes that these criticisms come from “resentful prejudices of a jealous social outcast."</text>

What spurred this letter is a series of advertisements for party themes that degraded the little sisters. She started by addressing the fraternities, saying that as a faculty member, she has been asked to overlook their shortcomings as they are for the greater good. However, after seeing these party advertisements that included "Live entertainment as Kandy returns to KA" she had relinquished her support. Next she addressed the little sisters themselves by asking "what are you thinking of?" She exclaims that she couldn't keep advocating for gender equality on campus when the little sisters "participate in their own degradation." Finally, she addressed potential rushes saying "if you came to this University to use your minds, now is the time to start."</text>

However, Walt Whitt, E. Claiborne Robins School of Business junior and president of the Interfraternity Council adds that the National Interfraternity Council does recommend the removal of little sister programs due to their “diverting resources of time, effort and money; distracting the performance of the chapter members; inviting disharmony within the chapter; and possibly weakening the bonds of brotherhood.” It is up to each chapter to choose to follow the NIFC resolution. Jennifer Higgins, Kappa Sig little sister, explains that the national organization of Kappa Sigma support of the NIFC resolution has led to the creation of an “honorary sisters” organization, not affiliated with the fraternity yet still promoting friendship. Honorary groups have been created by other little sister programs.</text>

While many believe this to be degrading, the little sisters, Cindy Ziegler and Elizabeth Francy for example, are not offended and think people are getting worked up about nothing.
