Description
In this short essay supporting American expansion, S. J. Rowland gives a brief history on the concept of colonization by the British, and then gives a chronological history of the United States' acquisition of land in the contiguous country and abroad. The author explains in detail the good things that American occupation of the Philippines has brought the natives, and closes by stating that America will "continue to stand, as she has stood, for liberty enlightening the world" (100).
