Dublin Core
Title
List of Possible Speakers For The June 1971 Graduation and Baccalaureate
Description
Representatives from the Richmond College senior class gathered to decide on possible suggestions for speakers for the June 1971 graduation and baccalaureate. John Gardner, an American author, most remembered for his novel, Grendel, which was published in 1971, was first on the seniors' list. Foreign policy expert most known for escalating the Vietnam War, McGeorge Bundy, was second. The rest of the list included both liberals and conservatives, politicians, authors, educators, and leaders in academia and the country. There were two black men suggested but no women.
