Description
The opinion piece "By Turning Our Backs on Bussing We Turn Our Backs On Desegregation" published by The Collegian on November 18th, 1982, is about a decision made by the United States Commission on Civil Rights that supported the practice of school busing as a form of desegregation. A 1980 Gallup poll determined that almost 80 percent of white people were opposed to mandatory busing while a little over 30 percent of black people were against it.
