Description
The article "Diversity: Morrill creates Commission to Study Faculty, Students", published by The Collegian, on November 9th, 1989, describes the Commission on Diversity that former University of Richmond President Richard L. Morrill established. The Commission had two major goals, to hire more faculty to improve the diversity initiative, and a community building aspect that would create a community that would be welcoming of the newfound diversity. At the time of this article, 95 percent of the student body was white and the remaining five percent were minorities.
