Dublin Core
Title
Letter from Martin L. Shotzberger to Herbert D. Long, Jr.
Subject
Description
This document is a letter from Martin L. Shotzberger, the Dean of University College, to Herbert D. Long, Jr., the President of the Inter-Fraternity Council at the University of Richmond, that was sent on February 16, 1965. This letter was sent in response to a letter Long had sent to Shotzberger. In this letter, Shotzberger said that "it is now the feeling of the College faculty and administration that Junior College students are not eligible to join fraternities." Shotzberger wrote that he hopes that university officials will consider this matter in the future but that no action would be taken at that time. At that time, the only black students at the university were enrolled at University College.
