Description
Pictured in the third row of the track team photograph from The Web 1971 is Norman Williams, who was the first black athlete on the track team and the first black athlete to receive a full scholarship from the University. According to the Collegian, Williams was “regarded as the best long jumper in the state and one of the best in the nation.”
