The Web 1986 "Underclass"

This photo from The Web 1986 shows several male students lying on top of each other while holding bottles of alcohol and wearing headbands with the Japanese flag on them. Japan's rising sun flag is in the bottom right of the photo, and the caption reads "Modern Kamikazes in training." A photo collage of Greek Rush from The Web 1984 also featured a photo of the "annual Kamikaze party." Japanese kamikaze pilots made suicidal crashes to destroy enemy targets in World War II, and these pilots often wore headbands known as hachimaki with the Japanese flag on them.
