The University of RIchmond hosted a Black History Week from February 3-10. The theme was "Shades of Unseen Beauty." Events included a march from the front of campus to the chapel for a sermon by Rev. A. James and a choir, a Gospel Night, a Talent Night, guest speaker Ms. Senora B. Lawson (vice-president of the NAACP), a performance of Black Child by the VCU Players, a Sickle Cell Anemia Drive, a dance with music by Trussel, and a screening of Black Odyssey. The week of events was planned by the Student Organization for Black Awareness (SOBA).
