This article looks back on the Black History Week events put on by the Student Organization of Black Awareness (SOBA). SOBA chairman Stanley Davis called the week a success, despite low student participation. It also draws from a speech by NAACP Richmond Branch President, Charles W. Howard, where he expressed his hopes that the NAACP will give black students hope for the future.
