Article "Student charged with pulling down dress"

Description

Controversy is sparked after a Richmond College sophomore, Jim Palmer, is charged with pulling down the dress of a Westhampton College sophomore, Sue McEvoy, during a football game. McEvoy is waiting to press civil charges until after Palmer's Judicial Council Trial. McEvoy had already once been harassed the year prior and her parents are advising her against going through that again. Palmer claims he didn't mean to pull down the dress. He was just drunk and messing around. Dean Mateer decided his punishment should be a semester, however Palmer decided to go in front of the Judicial Council. A student government official said they would like to make an example of Palmer, as issues of sexual misconduct are getting out of hand.
