The University of Richmond’s foreign language department hosted a Latin American Awareness Week during the spring of 1987. It included a host of different “speakers, films, a roundtable discussion and a party at the language apartments… the purpose was to enlighten the audiences about social, economic and cultural aspects of Latin American countries, and also about U.S.-Latin American relations.”
