Photograph "Unique, picturesque pageant of the Dwarfed Pine"
Dublin Core
Title
Photograph "Unique, picturesque pageant of the Dwarfed Pine"
Description
This April 29, 1920 image depicts students from Westhampton College and Richmond College staging a pageant of the "Dwarfed Pine." Corresponding articles in The Richmond Collegian explain the pine as an emblem in "the East" of "long life and endurance." Nearly 100 students were part of this production, and the image appears to show white students adopting yellowface to perform an Americanized depiction of Japanese culture.
