Article "WC Pushes for Sororities"

Description

This article covers the creation of the group ‘Women Involved in Sorority Establishment’ (W.I.S.E.) and the work that Westhampton College students did in order to advocate for bringing sororities on campus. Westhampton College junior, Laura Green, alongside other members of W.I.S.E., created a referendum that required a 51% majority vote for action to be taken on the issue of sororities. A similar vote was attempted in the past but there was, “excessive neutrality,” amongst WC students. In an effort to increase interest in sororities, Green has organized events where sorority members and alumnae from other universities act as guest speakers to share their experiences with Greek life.
