Article "Sororities: Faculty Decides Against Them For Westhampton"
Subject
Description
President Boatwright and Dean Keller address questions concerning sororities at Westhampton College. Right before winter break, students in Westhampton College voted by ballot on two questions: “Are you in favor of Sororities for Westhampton?” and “Do you think the time is ripe for them?” After the break, four student government representatives met with a faculty committee to discuss the topic at hand. They concluded that the time was not right for Westhampton College to bring in sororities. In addition, a motion at a student government meeting made, “every girl pledge herself not to join any organization not approved by the dean.”
