Report "Instructions For Waitresses"
Dublin Core
Title
Report "Instructions For Waitresses"
Subject
Description
This is an instruction sheet distributed to Westhampton College dining hall waitresses in 1948 by Marion H. Hamilton, Dean of Students at Westhampton College. The instructions demand that a worker, described as “in a sense, a professional”, appear neat, clean, courteous, attentive, and willing to serve. A thorough list of instructions and “General Remarks” follow. This list, as indicated by an attached letter from Secretary-Treasurer Charles H. Wheeler to President George Modlin, was received with resentment and confusion from the waitresses.
