The Fall 1963 edition of the Alumni Bulletin includes an advertisement for the Thanksgiving Festival football match, held at Richmond City Stadium. The advertisement highlights special family prices to encourage alumni families to attend the match between University of Richmond and the College of William and Mary. The advertisement depicts a drawing young white family with two children. Richmond's Spider mascot is featured, wearing a Confederate uniform. The mascot for William and Mary's team, then known as the Indians, is depicted as an uncivilized caricature of a Native American male.
