Article "Colonization delayed: The black sororities chosen by the University may have to wait until fall to colonize"

Description

Although the colonization of both Alpha Kappa Alpha and Delta Sigma Theta had progressed smoothly, the Historically Black Sororities are not able to colonize at the University of Richmond until the fall semester of the next school year. There were no details as to why the rush process was pushed back other than “there are a lot of things that they need to do” in order to organize everything for rush. The university took extra measures to interview students who reacted positively about the delay. Additionally, Vice President of Student Affairs Leonard Goldberg stated that, “the time is being taken to see that everything is done right,” although all six historically white sororities on campus were colonized at once.
