Article "Richmond and Virginia Wilder Says Attacks on Record Racial"
Subject
Description
The tension between Governor L. Douglas Wilder and Attorney General Mary Sue Terry is palpable as the governor claims critiques of his performance in office are made due to his race and not his competency. He is adamant that he is “held to a different standard than white politicians because of his race.” Governor Wilder believes that he is under "microscopic scrutiny" even in personal aspects of his life due to his race.
