Title
Opinion "Coming Out Week is a Must-See For UR Students"
Subject
Description
Richmond College student, Matt Rafalow (‘06), encourages University of Richmond students to attend the Thursday night screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. This event is part of the University of Richmond’s Coming Out Week that is hosted by LGBT students and allies. Rafalow describes his personal experience with coming out and the emotional/mental stress behind telling friends and family. He focuses on his time abroad in London and narrates how traveling to SoHo allowed him to feel comfortable and created a space for him to be completely himself. Rafalow acknowledges that the University of Richmond campus isn't a place for radical activism but inspires others to join in the LGBT-related programming during Coming Out Week.
