Subject
Description
This article reports that the University of Richmond was one of 6 colleges and universities to be awarded a $10,000 grant from the Prudential Insurance Co. of America intended to "expose students to diversity." The money was to be used to establish a program called Career Enhancement and Training-2000, which offered career counseling for minority students, pairing minority students with Richmond professionals, and workshops on diversity for the campus. The article discusses the merits of the grant, as well as additional uses of the money like videotapes on diversity and a collection of books.
