This 1963 announcement highlights the "Plantation Party," which was a party held on May Day (May 4th) to "reveal the school at its southern best." The events lined up include an open house art exhibit, a band concert, lantern parade, ballet, and a dance to close out the night. The party also features the crowning of the May Day Queen, Betsy Broaddus.
