Program "John Brown's Body"
Subject
Description
This is a program from the University Players' production of Stephen Vincent Benet's epic poem, "John Brown's Body," with music by Fenno Heath. Members of the University Players performed this poem in the Quonset Studio Theatre from April 18 to 21, 1961, to commemorate the centennial of the American Civil War. Professor Alton Williams staged the performance, and fourteen people were in the cast. Underneath the text there is an image of a Confederate soldier's hat.
