Column "Fraternity Sidelights: Kappa Alpha, Theta Chi Hold Annual Festivities"
Dublin Core
Title
Column "Fraternity Sidelights: Kappa Alpha, Theta Chi Hold Annual Festivities"
Subject
Description
Written by Kappa Alpha member Fred Combs, this article spotlighted various fraternities' events, initiations, and honored members. Kappa Alpha ended the school year with their annual Rose Ball. At the event, the brothers dressed as "Confederate soldiers and Southern gentlemen." To kick off the evening, they began with a "succession from the Union," where "freedom-loving" Rick Carter read the Declaration of Succession then raised the Confederate flag while the band played "Dixie." The band played "Dixie" at the end of the ball.
