Photograph collage "Homecoming 1949"
Dublin Core
Title
Photograph collage "Homecoming 1949"
Description
An article and photo collage in the winter 1950 Alumni Bulletin detailed the events of Homecoming 1949. There was a football game, parade float contest, pre-Homecoming dinner, and alumni luncheon. One photo features a float that says "Bye! Bye! Indians," referencing the Homecoming rivalry with The College of William & Mary. The float features cemetery on the top, with a football helmet hanging on each grave marker. Two men, dressed as a football player and a priest, are near a coffin. William & Mary athletic teams were known as the Indians until the 1980s.
