Title
Our Temporary Home Introduction Page
The Spider 1919
Subject
Description
This page is shown at the beginning of the yearbook. It shows a variety of photographs of the students' "temporary home" when students were displaced from the campus when it was used as a debarkation hospital during World War I. Students were housed in rented quarters in St. Luke's Hospital at Harrison and Grace Streets and in residences on Franklin Street and Monument Avenue. Their classes were held at Broad and Lombardy Streets. The bottom right photograph shows an African American member of custodial staff based on his apron and the trash bags that he is carrying.
