Letter from George G. Iggers to Ryland O. Reamy and Replies
Dublin Core
Title
Letter from George G. Iggers to Ryland O. Reamy and Replies
Description
This document contains correspondence from Richmond College alumni in response to an Alumni Fund call for donations in 1963. One alum, George G. Iggers, who had graduated from the university twenty years prior, wrote to an alum working on the fundraising team, “I have felt for many years that I could not contribute to an institution which at this late stage does not admit qualified students regardless of race.” This message was forwarded to University President George Modlin with the hope that he would address the issue, because many alumni were responding similarly to Iggers, and wanted to find “the Christian solution” to segregation policies.
