Title

Letter "Attention to Student Petition in The Collegian"

Description

This letter was left for President Boatwright from May Keller. She seeks to draw Boatwright's attention to a article clipped from the Collegian. She dated it the same day as the petition "We the Students" was published in the Collegian. Keller told Boatwright that "it definitely needs your attention and that of the Board." She claimed that a Miss Lucas and the Y.M.C.A. do not "not agree" nor do they see "reason for [her] stand." Keller admonished Boatwright to clarify race relations, because the Y.M.C.A., Miss Lucas, and the students' teachers had "been taught for years" to "believe in total race equality."
