The Spider 1915
Description
A yearbook page titled, "Dark Side of College Life," that includes eleven photographs of African American staff members on campus. The photographs feature African-American men dressed in either culinary apparel or as manual laborers carrying brooms or shovels. The other five photographs feature African-American women in nicer clothing except for one of the women dressed in culinary clothes. This is the only page in the yearbook that is dedicated to African Americans’ presence on campus.
